How to work with Microsoft team

What is Microsoft Teams?
Microsoft Teams is video conferencing communication for individual and organization; Teams is additionally Microsoft’s answer to competing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and GoToMeeting, although none of the competitors are as robust and full-featured as Teams.
Microsoft Teams include video calls, messaging, meeting coordination, and Microsoft Office 365 integration.
Therefore, you’ll be able to communicate with people or teams, coordinate conferences, and activities, have a record of all communication and collaborate on documents all among the groups work flow.
With Teams, you can conduct one-to-one or group audio/video calls. You can share screens during video conferencing (web conferencing), record meetings, and schedule meetings. Each user has up to 2GB of storage space.
1. Launch Teams
Teams can be used on a computer via the desktop application (PC, Mac), accessed directly from web-browser, or on a mobile device (Android, IOS).
To start with Microsoft Team

The first step is to log in with email and password. Let’s do that now.

2. Create a Team
To create or join a team
- On the app bar, click on the Team section, and then on the bottom left of the app click, ‘Join or Create a team’.
- If you create a new team, then decide what the team will be called, provide a description, and confirm what type it is.
- If public teams already exist, you will see those available to click on, or you can enter a code to join a private team in an Organisation

3. Adding Team members
There are many ways to add people to Teams, one of them is simply sending them an email link that joins them once they click on email link. Or, add their email ID directly into Teams.
Can also import names and email ID from collected from other sources such as Outlook, People or another contact.
After members joining a team you can review any activity.
By default, ‘General’ single subject discussion is only available. In Teams, these subsections are called ‘Channels’, and we are allowed to add multiple channels to start a conversation.

Let’s get started with the Teams user interface. After login, the first screen you see shown below.

Move around teams – App bar: Buttons to switch between Activity feed, chat, your team, meeting and files:
- Activity: find mentions, replies, and notifications.
- Chat: your recent one-on-one or group chats.
- Teams: displays all the Teams you have join.
- Meetings: synced with Outlook calendar and displays all your upcoming meetings.
- Files: all the files from all the Teams you have join.

Getting help in Microsoft Teams using Command bar
You can type / or @ for a list of commands. Will display the available commands or shortcuts. Select the appropriate command to initiate.

Microsoft is advancing the platform as being more than just a chat hub. Teams is integrated with Microsoft 365, which means it is attached to other Microsoft Office services, such as Word and Excel, as well as its cloud storage and sharing services.
